There was a tight brief on this project, which was to transform a traditional and pretty bedroom into something more contemporary and modern, whilst still retaining a romantic feel and incorporating the original fireplace that existed in the room. The clients had been recently influenced by a trip to the Far East. The budget was tight and therefore where possible the existing furniture was to be incorporated and given a fresh look. The colour scheme was predominantly black as an accent colour on the feature wall, with a Japanese inspired design, a cooling but warm pearl grey, which suits our British light and red. The original pine furniture was refinished with a warm stain to give a more contemporary and oriental feel and a new bedcover, lighting and accessories completed the look.
